Are Social Media Influencers Effective?

Many people have questions about how to identify if someone is a social media influencer or not. They worry that the price of Influencer Marketing won't reflect a return on the investment.

If you have been on Social Media for long enough, you'll find that Influencer Marketing is very much alive and well.

Most consumers prefer to purchase a trusted suggestion rather than buying directly from viewing an ad. I've researched and answered some of the most commonly asked questions about using social media Influencers.

Does Influencer Marketing Encourage People to Share Your Business Messages?

The answer is yes. It doesn't matter what you show. Your buyers will share it with others, as long as your target audience is interested in the product or service.

Does Influencer Marketing Make People Feel Better About Their Purchases?

Again, yes. People prefer buying from other people rather than companies. When someone your market trusts tells their followers how great they feel when using certain products or services, they trust them to be honest about their experience. When they see a review from someone they think is truly glad to help them, it makes the purchase decision easier.

Does Influencer Marketing Cost More?

Yes, social media Influencer Marketing does cost more than other forms of advertising. Even so, most experts agree that this expense is worth it in the long run. The effort needed to launch a social media influencer campaign will also have significant results and typically a higher return on investment (ROI).

What About Social Media Influencers that Don't Drive Sales? Are they Ineffective?

Different people react differently to different messages. The same line of thought goes for people who are on social media. Brand Awareness is just as important as sales if you are in it for the long run. If your company is a start-up, you need that extra reach and exposure. Think about how the Clubhouse app took off once just a few celebrities jumped on-board.

You might think that, as long as your influencers are verified, you've done well. However, they might not be engaged with their followers. Be sure to check the engagement of an Influencer before you hire them for an Influencer Marketing Campaign.

Do Social Media Influencers Pay Off?

Again, social media influencer campaigns that don't pay off don't make any sense because they've failed to achieve any results. Is social media influencer marketing beneficial to businesses? Yes, social media influencers are effective if used appropriately. However, it's not a magic button that causes people to buy products and services.

Are people interested in something if it's not useful to them? As long as people are happy and you solve a problem for them, they're going to say yes to the offer. Saying yes to the offer doesn't mean that they will click the order button on every product or service offered immediately.

Do these all sound like common sense? Well, most of it is. That's why companies worldwide are finding that social media influencers are beneficial, but that they do not come cheap.

By all means, use social media influencers as a marketing tool. However, before doing so, make sure you consider some of the points I've made. If necessary, be open to hiring someone to help your company with Influencer Marketing.
